Over the last 2 years, I have observed Tony Henderson participate in various roles (Management, Architect, Engineer, and Security Control Assessor), and in various capacities towards overarching DHS efforts to facilitate the success of our current contract effort. I have seen him be solicited and leveraged as a resource for his Cybersecurity Subject Matter Experience and expertise, as well as project planning acumen.  Tony’s Blue Team SME status allowed him to enhance the contract Request for Proposal, which was predicated on a strategy of being able to exhibit subject matter expertise across the various “colored” functional teams (Red, Blue, Purple, and Grey). Since beginning the contract in 2019, I have observed Tony serving in a critical position as the Deputy Blue Team Lead.  Tony has contributed to the comprehensive maturity of business processes, procedures, and internal policies germane to performance capabilities offered at the program level for the Blue Team; this enhancement of his performance has been reflected in the overarching service offering, and evolution of Blue Team deliverables, which has been cited throughout the tenure of the contract as a source of continual satisfaction and improvement in confidence of the government customer.

As a staff member, I have noted my own professional development as a function of an observable increased quality work product as well as my peers, who appear to have benefitted from Tony managing and leading by example when contributing to the creation of business requirements for team assignments, standardization of procedures for various Blue Team workflow, and QA processes he has developed and implemented across the team, which enabled the overall team to produce at a higher quality. In addition to contribution to business process development, I have observed Tony contribute to the project as a whole by supplementing the workloads of all other teams beyond Blue Team internal team efforts, by contributing to accomplishing Gray Team project plans, assisting with tasks that exceed the Blue Team scope of work, and actual hands-on performance of work which other teams were failing to complete, in regards to the planning and implementation of Engineering and Architecture efforts.  I have assisted Tony in the thorough planning, installation, architecture and engineering of a Security Center instance.  Tony stepped in to perform the function of another group that didn’t seem to have the appropriate resources, because if that other team did not complete their projects, the outcome would be detrimental to future development and ability to automate various tasks which would benefit all teams across the contract.  If Tony wasn’t on this contract, there is no telling how a missed deliverable would reverberate across other currently on-going projects or future notional projects.
